Preparing for our final exam
I've posted the questions for the final exam (the handout from class) on our Angel site, in case anyone needs it. I've also included the list of people who said they may want to get a study group together. If anyone wants to add themselves to the list, I'll set it up so that you can.
Remember to bring your list of blog posts/comments to the final exam session if you didn't hand it in yesterday!

wow- this is a great artistic response! I loved that you used the video media to express your ideas on the book!- it was all so real and I think very true to what is happening in today's american culture, along w/ our global culture. The last sequence with the girl eating, then sizing herself up was very intense- I just wanted to say good job, and i hope you posted this on youtube!

I really enjoyed this piece. I thought it was a great way to show that the Uglies is not just a book, but rather something that is really happening in real life. As we get older I think we are often able to escape some of these stereotypes because we know that they cannot always be trusted. As young teens though, these images will have HUGE effects on children's self images and the way they want to look. They will begin to think that their own natural bodies are not beautiful, but that only those the "perfect" body are the ones worth while. I thought this was a very powerful artistic response.
